Pontllanfraith Primary School is situated near Blackwood in the Sirhowy Valley in Caerphilly County, South Wales. The school has a large site and to the rear of the school are beautiful grounds: we have a large playing field, an early years play area, a sensory garden, allotments,  an outdoor stage, a meadow and a pond.

The school buildings have been refurbished in recent years and are  fully equipped and designed to meet the needs of a 21st century curriculum.

We are part of the Islwyn High School cluster of schools: the majority of our pupils transfer to Islwyn High School at the end of year 6 along with children from Trinant, Rhiw Syr Dafydd, The Bryn, Penllwyn, Cwmfelinfach and Ynysddu Primaries.

We host two satellite classes for children with ASD who are on roll at Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre.
