Partnership with Parents: Achieve, Believe, Care
We believe that strong partnerships between school and home make a real difference to children's learning, wellbeing and confidence. When we work together, we create a supportive community where every child can thrive.
There are lots of ways to get involved in school life. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your contribution makes a real difference!
💙 Parent, Teacher & Friends Association (PTFA)
Our PTFA helps raise valuable funds and brings our school community together through events and activities. While the committee meets regularly throughout the year, all parents are automatically members. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps ensure that popular events such as discos and the summer fete can continue to take place. You can volunteer your services by emailing pontllanfraithprimaryschoolpta@gmail.com
💙 Join the Parent Forum
The Parent Forum is a great opportunity to share your views and help shape school policies and procedures.
Together, we discuss feedback from parent surveys ahead of Governors' meetings, and we'd love to have a representative from every class if possible.
Examples of things we've discussed in the past are: communication apps, Curriculum for Wales and how it works within mixed-age classes, organisation of mixed age classes, our uniform policy and our Poverty Proofing report.Â
We meet 5 times a year - approximately every 8 weeks. If you would be interested in joining us, keep an eye out on ClassDoJo for the next meeting and email Mrs East via PontllanfraithPrimary@sch.caerphilly.gov.uk to let us know you'll be attending.
💙 Help Us Create More Opportunities for Our Children
One of the strengths of our school community has always been the willingness of parents and families to help us provide memorable experiences for our children.Â
We positively welcome and encourage volunteers to Pontllanfraith Primary School and can see the benefits that volunteers can bring to our children. To run school trips safely, we must have enough adults available to accompany children.Â
Anyone wishing to become a volunteer, either for a one off event such as a school visit or on a more regular basis should contact the school office in the first instance. We will arrange and pay for a DBS check for any parent who would like to become a volunteer. There is no expectation that you will help every time, and any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.Â
Together, we can continue to provide the enriching experiences that make school life so special for our children.Â
